Tools for Improvement

Innoven has based its improvement approach on lean manufacturing tools, Six Sigma methodology and change management principles. These are complemented by our in-depth knowledge of the vocation training system resulting in building sustainable capability within the business. Our approach has been honed across a variety of industries based on the client’s requirements.

Lean manufacturing is an efficiency system developed by Toyota Motor Corporation that aims to provide best quality, lowest price, and shortest lead time through the elimination of waste. The tools used to implement lean have been successfully used across many different industry sectors. The tools need to be complemented with a change management approach to ensure initiatives don’t suffer from “fadeout”. Lean focuses on improving “value” from the customer’s point of view.

Six Sigma was first created by Motorola and is a system that uses data to reduce defects in products and services. The Six Sigma approach achieves low statistical targets for defects through design for manufacturability and the use of DMAIC as a continuous improvement approach.
