profile PROFILE - Kim Banfield

Program Coordinator

Kim has many years experience in the baking trade and in training and education for the baking industry. He completed his apprenticeship with Freeman's Cakes in Shepparton and moved on to the Southern Cross Hotel in Melbourne as a Pastry Chef.

Kim has a Diploma of Teaching from the University of Melbourne's Hawthorn Institute of Education and a Certificate III in Cookery (Commercial) from GOTAFE. He has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Management Development at Victoria University and has trained in the "German Art of Baking" at Weinheim in Germany.

With professional membership of Baking NET Victoria, Kim has judged the Great Australian Meat Pie Competition several times and is a judge for the Baking Industry Association of Victoria baking competitions. Kim is also the Program Coordinator for the Yenbena Indigenous Training Centre and is an active member of the Mooroopna Rotaract and Apex Clubs.
