Business competitiveness requires management of the Supply Chain into your business, within your business and to your customers. GOTAFE's Diploma of Logistics is a customised training program with a focus on identifying opportunities for Supply Chain improvement by aligning Supply Chain operations to Business Strategy and applying Lean Thinking to address the challenges.
Included in the program is the study of Supply Chain relationships which provides the foundation for improved understanding of customer needs.
Program Overview
This unique program includes the use of Lean principles in a workplace project, allowing for immediate application of the latest thinking to improve the competitive advantage of the organisation. Participants develop the capability to transform the organisation from within and deliver real change.
The Lean Supply Chain Principles covered are:
- Supply Chain Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
- Fulfillment Streams and their characteristics
- Nodes and their inter-relationships
- Continuous Improvement and starburst thinking
- Waste identification and elimination
- Culture & mindset required for A3 Thinking

Training Delivery & Assessment
This 12 month program consists of seven intensive one-day workshops, three industry visits plus three workplace visits. The major course assessment is completed via presentation of a workplace performance improvement project in your business.
Regular follow up will be conducted and there is ongoing GOTAFE faculty involvement during and after the program.
